It is important to note:
- Any problems during the pregnancy, labour and delivery
- Gestational age and birth weight (If not known, was the infant small? How long was the hospital stay?)
- Any problems during the first few days of life
- Diet and feeding
- Growth and development
- Any previous illness or problems before the start of the present complaints
- If the present complaints have ever occurred before
- Any previous or present medication
- Any operations or hospital admissions
- Any allergies
It is most important to determine whether the present complaints can be related to anything in the past history.
